Cricket farming requires much less water for the same amount of protein produced, with consumption reduced by up to 35 times.
The possibility of vertical development in cricket farming and the much smaller size of the animals reduce land use by about 25 times, leaving more space for nature.
Cricket flour contains a significant amount of protein, but these are high-quality and well-balanced compared to those found in meat. Moreover, cricket flour also contains a moderate amount of fats and carbohydrates, making it lighter to digest compared to other high-protein density foods.
At the same weight, cricket flour derivatives have almost three times the protein compared to beef. They produce less pollution, use less water, and require less land. One kilogram contains an impressive 740g of protein!
During the milling process, cricket flour is defatted according to European standards. This reduces the fat content and proportionately increases the content of iron, calcium, omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin B12, antioxidants, and other minerals.
No poverty
Worldwide, over 800 million people suffer from malnutrition, particularly due to mineral and protein deficiencies. With the population reaching 10 billion and food production becoming increasingly difficult, we need a more efficient food source to feed the hungry world. Insects can simultaneously address malnutrition and food efficiency.
Zero hunger
Modern agriculture is pushing small farmers out. We believe that with cricket farming, they can have what it takes to build a sustainable competitive advantage. Through our partners, we help them develop their capabilities and improve their livelihoods through training, support, and purchasing their products. In parallel, the final product can be used to fight hunger in the neediest areas with protein alternatives.
